Exam SC-300 Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator

The Microsoft Exam SC-300, also known as the Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator exam, tests a candidate’s knowledge and skills in managing identity and access in Microsoft Azure.

The exam content is divided into the following sections:

  • Configure and manage identity and access for applications

  • Configure and manage Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) identity protection
  • Monitor and manage security operations
  • Configure and manage Azure AD Connect
  • Configure and manage Azure AD Privileged Identity Management
  1. Secure Data and Applications (20-25%)
  • Implement data and application protection
  • Implement Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)
  • Implement Microsoft Cloud App Security (MCAS)

The Microsoft SC-300 exam is designed to test a candidate’s knowledge and skills in managing identity and access for Microsoft Azure and securing data and applications in the cloud.

Prequisites

To take the Microsoft Exam SC-300, candidates should have a strong understanding of Microsoft Azure and its identity and access management services. Microsoft recommends that candidates have at least one year of hands-on experience in managing identity and access for Microsoft Azure.

Additionally, Microsoft recommends that candidates have knowledge and experience in the following areas:

  • Identity concepts and technologies, including Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) and Azure AD
  • Privileged access management (PAM) and access control
  • Azure AD identity protection and multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • Conditional access and Azure AD Connect
  • Cloud computing concepts and services
  • Security concepts and technologies, including threat protection and security management

Candidates may also benefit from taking the Microsoft Exam SC-900, which provides an overview of Microsoft Azure and its cloud services. However, this exam is not a formal prerequisite for the SC-300 exam.
