Azure ARC

Azure Arc is a service from Microsoft that extends Azure management to hybrid and multi-cloud environments. It allows you to manage resources from various sources, including on-premises servers, edge devices, and other clouds, using Azure management tools and services.

Azure Arc provides a unified view of your resources, regardless of their location, and enables you to apply Azure policies and governance to all of them. Here are some examples of how Azure Arc can help you manage and secure your hybrid and multi-cloud environments:

  1. Manage and monitor on-premises servers: With Azure Arc, you can connect your on-premises servers to Azure and manage them using Azure management tools, such as Azure Policy, Azure Security Center, and Azure Monitor. You can also deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters on your servers using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Engine.
  2. Govern and secure edge devices: With Azure Arc, you can connect your edge devices, such as IoT devices, to Azure and manage them using Azure management tools. You can also apply Azure policies and security controls to your edge devices to ensure they are compliant and secure.
  3. Manage resources in other clouds: With Azure Arc, you can manage resources in other clouds, such as AWS and GCP, using Azure management tools. This allows you to use a single management plane for all your resources, regardless of their location.
  4. Deploy and manage applications consistently: With Azure Arc, you can deploy and manage applications consistently across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. You can use Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) to deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters on any infrastructure, including on-premises servers and edge devices.
  5. Improve compliance and governance: With Azure Arc, you can apply Azure policies and governance to all your resources, regardless of their location. This allows you to improve compliance and governance and ensure that your resources are being used in a secure and compliant way.

Azure Arc is a service that provides a single management plane for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. It allows you to manage and monitor resources from various sources using Azure management tools and services, improving visibility, governance, and security of your resources.
