What is Windows Hello?

Windows Hello is a biometric authentication technology developed by Microsoft for Windows 10 and later versions. It allows users to sign in to their devices using facial recognition, fingerprint scanning, or iris scanning instead of a traditional password.

Here are some examples of how Windows Hello works:

  1. Facial recognition: With a compatible device that has a front-facing camera, you can set up Windows Hello to recognize your face. To do this, you need to go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Windows Hello face, and follow the instructions to scan your face. Once set up, you can sign in to your device just by looking at it.
  2. Fingerprint scanning: If your device has a fingerprint scanner, you can set up Windows Hello to recognize your fingerprint. To do this, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Windows Hello fingerprint, and follow the instructions to scan your fingerprint. Once set up, you can sign in to your device by touching the fingerprint scanner.
  3. Iris scanning: If your device has an infrared camera, you can set up Windows Hello to recognize your iris. To do this, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Windows Hello iris, and follow the instructions to scan your iris. Once set up, you can sign in to your device by looking at the infrared camera.

Windows Hello provides a more secure and convenient way to sign in to your Windows devices without the need to remember passwords.
