Teams Live events policies

Teams Live Events policies are used to control the features and capabilities available to organizers and presenters when creating and managing live events in Teams. The policies can be configured to set restrictions on the number of attendees, the types of content that can be shared, the level of interaction allowed during the event, and more.

Here are some examples of the policies that can be configured for Teams Live Events:

  1. External participants: This policy allows or restricts the ability for external participants to join the live event. It can be set to “On” to allow external participants to join, “Off” to block external participants, or “Optional” to allow organizers to choose whether or not to allow external participants.
  2. Recording: This policy allows or restricts the ability for organizers or presenters to record the live event. It can be set to “On” to allow recording, “Off” to block recording, or “Organizer Only” to allow only the organizer to record the event.
  3. Q&A: This policy allows or restricts the ability for attendees to ask questions during the event. It can be set to “On” to allow Q&A, “Off” to block Q&A, or “Presenter Only” to allow only the presenters to ask and answer questions.
  4. Attendee Engagement: This policy allows or restricts the ability for attendees to interact with the content during the live event. It can be set to “On” to allow interaction, “Off” to block interaction, or “Presenter Only” to allow only the presenters to interact with the content.
  5. Registration: This policy allows or restricts the ability for attendees to register for the live event. It can be set to “On” to require registration, “Off” to allow attendees to join without registration, or “Optional” to allow organizers to choose whether or not to require registration.

To configure Teams Live Events policies, administrators can use the Teams admin center or PowerShell cmdlets. It is important to carefully consider the needs of the organization and the requirements of the event when configuring these policies to ensure a successful and effective live event experience for all participants.
